Parts we're currently casting and shows we're staffing.

Zoom Logo Final 300x300Zoom Theatre is currently accepting play production proposals from Black, Indigenous, and People of Color Theatre Directors for shows to be presented in our Summer 2021 mini-season. All applications must be received before April 18th, 2021.

SHOW ONE -

  • Rehearsals - June 13 to July 9 (up to five days a week, four hours per day)
  • Tech Weekend - July 10 and 11 (8 hours each day)
  • Dress Rehearsals - July 12 through 14
  • Performances - July 15 through July 22

SHOW TWO  -

  • Rehearsals - July 7 to August 20 (up to five days a week, four hours per day)
  • Tech Weekend - August 21 and 22 (8 hours each day)
  • Dress Rehearsals - August 23 through 24
  • Performances - August 25 through August 29

Required Proposal Elements

  • Your Resume
  • The name of the play, author and licensing organization (if not public domain).
  • PDF copy of the play.
  • Character list including character descriptions and any possible role doubling (if applicable).
  • A written proposal that includes:
    • A summary of the play.
    • Your personal connection and/or passion for the play and your vision for it.
    • Why you think this play should be presented now.
    • Why you think this is a good play to be presented on Zoom and if there are any issues / challenges you foresee with an on-line presentation.
  • Your availablility for the SHOW ONE and SHOW TWO  slots (above) and any schedule conflicts during either slot.

All applications must be received before April 18th, 2021.

General Information -

  • All director applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
  • All proposals must be for plays.  Proposals for musicals, dance concerts, poetry readings, etc., are not being considered at this time.
  • These are non-union, non-paying engagements for the director, production staff and cast. Audience donations are shared with director, production staff and cast after the production closes.
  • Zoom Theatre can equip up to 14 cast members with production equipment (including computers, green screens, ring lights, mics, webcams) as needed.
  • Company member physical location / time zone is not restricted as long as company members can make all rehearsal and performance times.
  • Zoom Theatre pays for all performance / licensing rights, costumes, and properties required.

All actors must - 

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have Zoom compatible device with webcam and microphone.
  • Have a reliable internet connection with at least 3mbs upload and 10mbs download. (print screen of SpeedTest results required).
  • Have a minimum 9'x9' space in which to rehearse and perform.
  • If the actor's personal computer is used during performance (not a requirement), the actor must grant permission for Zoom Theatre techs to remotely access and operate their computers.
  • May be asked to provide some level of self-costuming (depending on the production).
